Im sorry for my absence

Me and mom are approaching the date in which we have to go to court.  So I'm having to really buckle down on my school work.  I promise, i will post more entries after court is over.

Wow. I.... find it rather hard to respond.

So I'm sure some of you have heard about the James Foley, a reporter in Syria, beheading via ISIS.  It was an incredibly grisly death, done with a small knife.  Of course, I won't post the video on here.  I MYSELF don't want that in my head.  From what I am aware, though, the video is rather easy to find.  Watch with caution though.

Either way, he was being held for ransom for $132 million dollars.  Pocket change to the government.  Yet they refused to pay it, letting James Foley die.  Then the government is, from what it seems, surprised and outraged they actually did it.  How many people has ISIS killed now?  Why would they be surprised?  Better yet, why didn't they just pay the ransom?!

Who knows.  Maybe there were circumstances that couldn't be helped.  Or perhaps it was the governments pride.  It is impossible to tell whether they mean the truth or not, as they lie through one face and speak truth out the other.  Of course, the latter is remarkably silent.

James Foley had been covering the news over in Syria before being abducted by ISIS.

The CNN cover of the story.

I do believe though that we should pay our respects, in whatever way you may do so, to James Foley.

R.I.P. James Foley

Oh dear... so many ways for this to go wrong...

Good evening, everyone!  Ok, so today's topic is Jibo, 'the world's first family robot'.  I haven't really heard anything about it until the commercial, so I assume not much is known about it yet except what the commercial says.  Jibo can show emotions, can track you, can be wired into your home to control the power and such.  It can respond to everything you say, it can take pictures of you, it can relay what is said to it to you, it can repeat voicemails to you... Most would find this revolutionary and it really is.

While scrolling through Youtube, I normally skip the commercials.  However, this time I was on another tab when I heard it.  The commercial itself is set as cheery, happy, and awe-inducing.  it explains what all Jibo can do and overall gives a sense of happiness.

This is the commercial.

Maybe I have simply watched too many sci-fi movies.  Maybe too much Matrix, Portal 1-2, and more.  However, this seems like it could go very wrong very fast.

It is probably seen by alot of people as simply a wonderful invention or innovation.  Who knows, it probably is.  But what if it is innovated further?  given human emotions it can control?  people always say it is not possible, but we are looking at the metaphorical prototype for this age.  There are robots now that can learn how to walk again within 2 minutes of breaking a leg.

Many scientists, as to be expected, are quite proud of themselves for their achievements in the robotic industries.  When you're happy about something you did, you want to improve on it, yes?  And so, metaphorically speaking, what if they just kept on improving it and improving it?  How smart would robots become?  I believe anything is possible and nothing is impossible.

It could very well be a wonderful thing.  These could very well change the world!  But if one person gets too prideful, and gives robots too deep of feelings and too much freedom, it will likely go wrong.  if not, good for them.

This has been Anonymouse.  Have a wonderful evening~!

Homework

Hello everyone!  I have been absent from here for awhile due to all the stuff going on, like court, therapy, and such.  I figured I might as well come back and post a little more before I immerse myself back into... that.  Because of court,  I have had to do more homework and papers to show that I have been hard at work.  I am doing a paper on the third amendment.  I am actually quite shocked at what I am reading.

'Article the third... Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. '

I am shocked at how little of this is actually being upheld.  In Wallstreet, where people peacefully sat down in protest, people got pepper-sprayed and arrested.  That's only one of many examples.  So that's a no on peaceful assembly.
We have many laws respecting and protecting Christian churches.  In fact, a good portion of funds in Mississippi goes to the building of churches and 20 foot high crosses!  They could be using that money to fix the broken roads,  make new, less costly homes, make more crops, feed the starving, etc.!  But no.  It is being used to build crosses and churches.
The Freedom of Speech and Press is long gone.  We can't say what we want without being sued, we can't post what we want without being sued or reported or deleted!
Another thing about the Freedom Of Press.  Sadly, the govornment CONTROLS the press.  I have heard many things about what the government is doing that, surprisingly, no one has managed to hear about due to the fact they are keeping it out of the grasp of the press or keeping them silent.  For instance, now a woman can sit on the sidelines as a way of protest, be grabbed and bruised,  and SHE is the one hauled off to jail.  Yet no one says anything about HER getting hurt first.  It is completely kept in the quiet except for a select few sites that actually found it and posted it up.  This is the story.
We are not allowed to complain to the government about our grievances.  No.. I take that back.  We can, but it is pretty obvious that they aren't listening.  The only ones who are are the ones they send to quiet those who complain.

That's one of the most important of the Articles.  One that is ignored and tarnished alot as well.  So think about all of this before you tell others about how none of our rights are being violated.  It's truly sad.  To tell you the truth, this is just scraping the surface.  Just something to give you a little homework of your own, if you see fit to follow it up.

Things that go bump in the night arent just boogey men and monsters!

Lately, in the heavily wooded areas, people have been hearing new sounds in the woods surrounding their homes.  That is our topic today, boys and girls, elders and children.  Deforestation.

I am not telling this from the view point of a sympathizing friend or even that of an observer.  I have heard these sounds and movements around my house as well.  I grew up, and still live in, Mississippi.  Normally, I can identify anything I hear in the woods. A  chickadee, owl, wolf, dogs, cows, etc...

However... lately we have heard sounds none of us can identify.  Seen shapes we simply didn't recognize.  The reason for this?  Forests not too far from our house are being cut down.  What would you do if you lost your home?  Run to find a new one.  Animals all around are flocking to new, unknown-to-them territory to escape death.

However, this is causing more havoc than most would know. It is introducing new predators into an environ that is not prepared to deal with them. This disrupts the circle of life in that area.  And we all know what happens if animals begin to go into the cities to escape the deforestation.  People start hunting that animal instead of trying to give it a new habitat.

It's worse enough that cutting trees down is only making our air more polluted, but now we are taking the homes of animals without even providing any new places for them. the only land safe, the only land we bother protecting anymore, are where endangered animals or something equally important lives.  And the lumber companies are circling those places like vultures too.  We need to save the woods that both animals and humans call home.  Unless you want to live in a cement forest.  That's all a city is, just a lot less hospitable than a forest.

You Poor, Unfortunate Souls...

I have made a classic Disney song into a complete description of congress. of course, it is a remixed song. 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' from The Little Mermaid. This is the original song, so you can remember the rhythm: Poor Unfortunate Souls.

We admit that our rules in the past have been a bit bent...
they weren't kidding when they called us, well, a puppet government.
But you'll find that nowadays,
We've mended all our ways
Repented, seen the light, and made a switch. True? Yes.

And we fortunately know a bit about psychology...
it's a talent that we always have possessed
And here lately, please don't laugh
We use it on behalf
of the miserable, the lonely, and depressed...(pathetic)

Poor unfortunate souls
in pain, in need
this one longing for less taxes
this one wants to buy a house
and do we help them?
Yes, indeed....

Those poor unfortunate souls
So sad, so true
They come flocking to our building
crying, "Help us, congress, please!"
and we help them?
Yes, we do....

Now, it's happened once or twice...
someone couldn't pay the price...
and I'm afraid we had to rake'em across the coals.
Yes, we've had the odd complaints,
but on the whole we've been saints
 To those poor unfortunate souls!

(dialog)
(Congress): so have we got a deal? (people): but if I move into the U.S.A., I'll never see my family again... (congress): But you'll have your advanced technology. Life's full of tough choices, Isn't it? Oh, and there is one more thing.  We haven't discussed the subject of payment. (people): but I don't have any-  (congress): I'm not asking much. Just a token, really.  A trifle.  What I want from you is... your freedom. (people): but without my freedom, how can I-  (congress): you'll have your games! Your online chats!  And we musn't forget the importance of idle idle chit chat while you work.

(singing again)
The workers here don't like a lot of political blabber.
They think a person who gossips is a bore.
Yes, in the U.S.A. it's quite preferred
for people not to say a word
Afterall, dear, what is idle prattle for?

Comon, they're not all that impressed with political conversation
Truly smart people avoid it when they can
But they enjoy the innocence
 from eachother's ignorance
It's he who holds his tongue that survives.

Comon, you poor unfortunate soul!
Go ahead! make your choice!
We are very busy people,
and we haven't got all day
It won't cost much
just your freedom!

You poor unfortunate soul!
It's sad, but true
If you want to enjoy the polluting vapors,
my friend, you'v got to pay the toll
Take a gulp and take breath
and go ahead and sign the papers!
(haha, now we've gottem boys!
The boss is on a roll!)

This poor unfortunate soul!

.... Dude..... not cool....

Hello viewers!  AnonyMouse speaking.  Today, boys and girls, we are going to talk about more stuff people don't know much about.

We all know the Navy, right?  Protecting us via sea.  This is going to be a short post, as I don't have a lot to talk about in this topic.  It's disturbing on its own.  As some of us know:  whales, dolphins, and most fish rely on hearing and sonar to communicate and find food.

Humans cause injury to these animals with man-made sounds, such as sonar by a submarine or ship, airguns used in oil exploration, and even sonar weapons.  This can cause injury and even death to these animals.  One year, the year where the most animals have ever washed ashore before, was the year the navy tested out a new sonar weapon.  The whales that washed ashore had bleeding in and around the brain, were leaking blood from the ears, and had bubbles on their organs.

There is no question that sonar injures and kills whales and dolphins.
– Joel Reynolds, NRDC senior attorney

What happens to whales is similar to divers getting 'the bends'.  The Bends is what happens when a diver suddenly goes from deep underwater to the surface.  The pressure change can be too much for the body to handle. Things to make you say 'Mother of god...'

The whales end up changing their dicing patterns too drastically for their bodies to handle.
"Even the Navy estimates that increased sonar training will significantly harm marine mammals more than 10 million times during the next five years off the U.S. coast alone."
From 2014, this year, to 2019, the Navy plans on doing even more  tests that they themselves said would likely kill hundreds of dolphins and whales.  They even admitted to it!
